FIRE STATION TOURS
Aurora Fire District is excited to reintroduce fire station tours to the community after an extended break during the pandemic. The Fire District provides tours at two of our community fire stations; however, station tours might look a little different than they have in the past. The Fire District will provide a thorough tour of the apparatus bay and equipment, but we will not be conducting tours of the living quarters of the fire station.
Each station tour will include:
Age-appropriate fire and life safety education.
Demonstrations by firefighters (turnouts and self-contained breathing apparatus).
A tour of a fire apparatus and equipment.
Tour Details and Requirements:
Station tours generally last about 30-45 minutes.
Tours are limited to 30 or fewer attendees. Please provide an adequate number of chaperons.
Small groups such as families that are in the area of a fire station can stop by to look at the apparatus and don’t need to schedule a tour.
The Fire District does not host birthday parties or send fire crews to attend birthday parties.
Please allow two to three weeks for processing and scheduling your request.
Please be aware that while working, the firefighters must remain available for emergencies. Even with a pre-scheduled tour, the possibility exists that the crew could be called out before or during a tour. If firefighters are not at the station when your group arrives, they are likely on an emergency call. We recommend you wait up to 15 minutes for their return. If they do not return, please contact the Fire District to reschedule the tour. Thank you for your support and understanding.
