As a support member with Aurora Fire you will be expected to complete District training and task performances for support of firefighters and medical personnel.  You will begin orientation and support function training with other volunteers weekly on Monday evenings.

Once you have completed training you will be required to maintain that training by attending a minimum of 33% per quarter of fire or medical drills.  Drill is held weekly on Monday evenings at 7pm and you will report to your assigned station.

Support members would provide a variety of support functions which would include traffic control, assisting with bottle exchanges, firefighter rehab, cleaning and restoration of equipment and much more.  Support members may also assist with fire prevention and outreach activities within our communities and schools.

The in-district support member program provides on-call response services to the District.  You would be a home responder that is assigned a pager and will respond to emergencies when you are available to do so.  When the alarm sounds, the in-district responder's pager will activate alerting the responder of the type and location of an incident.  You would driver your personal vehicle to your assigned station and join other responders and staff to respond to the emergency.  In order to qualify you must reside within the Aurora Fire District and be willing to respond at all hours.
