Aurora Fire District History

The Aurora Fire District was formed in 1948 by a vote of the citizens it serves.
The District has grown from an entirely volunteer workforce to a combination department with four full-time staff and one part-time bookkeeper. We also have six student sleepers that serve the district. These staff members support the 45 volunteers and provide coverage when many of our volunteers are at their regular jobs.
